We are a young and growing organization so you can expect to see a lot of changes to this site in the near future. Please feel free to email us regarding any ideas, comments, opinions or questions about the Canadian Goldfish Society. The CGFS hopes to encourage and support this fun and exciting hobby for the benefit of fish keepers and also hobby related corporations, both in Canada and abroad. We have just held our first online goldfish show, which started on May 1, 2003. We invited our members from countries all over the world to send in photos of their favorite fish in their collection. Prizes for our show have been donated by Mr. Jackie Chan of Tunghoi Aquarium Co., and some other donors. We invite everyone to participate, learn more about how to evaluate our fish, and have some fun! We are also attemping to develop our own variety of Goldfish that we have called "The Canakin". Mr. Jackie Chan presented us with the concept of a tail in the shape of a Maple leaf, the symbol on the Canadian flag. We extend an invitation to anyone in the world to join us in promoting this symbol of peace and co-operation. Support the Canakin Project by linking to your favorite store from this website. All Proceeds will be used to purchase equipment, fish, etc for the Canakin Project. In addition to the online Goldfish show and the ongoing Canakin project, we will also be busy with other projects during the upcoming year. Our newsletter editor Brisa is putting the finishing touches our first newsletter. We have an online chat at 6pm EST on the third Sunday of each month, and we are hoping to organize a 2003 group get together. Our discussions on the YahooGroups site are full of exciting new information, and getting more indepth each month. We have the opportunity to talk with many very experienced fellow hobbyists from countries all around the world. |
